Divergent: a candor review

Divergent is the latest book to film to hit the small screen lately. Divergent is a young adult book that was extremely successful. It is the story of a young girl named Beatrice who is about to have a decision trust upon her that will change her and everyone’s life around her completely.

It stars Shailene Woodley as Triss,Kate Winslet and Miles Teller.

There are five different lifestyles or factions  in the universe of Divergent

Abnegation the selfless, Amity the peaceful, Candor the honest,Dauntless the brave,and the  Erudite the intelligent. Beatrice  is Abnegation faction and is ready to bust out of her shell.

Triss as she is later know in the book will have to choose a new faction as do all youth. She upsets the balance of her community by choosing a new faction and leaving her parents.

The movie was decent. I was not blown away but not disappointing either. I actually enjoyed the film. It had action,drama,and sets up nicely for the sequel. It reminded me of the Hunger Games, another hugely popular young adult franchise and great movie. But Divergent seemed like a worse version of that.

Over all 3/5 I say it is at least a watch once, and more maybe a buy if you read the book or are a fan of the book.

MVp would have to be Shailene Woodley. She was exceptional as triss and portrayed her very similar to how she was in the book. 

The OMG factor has to be that training where she fights Miles Teller’s Character
